Twilight Not Done Yet…

Just when you thought the end was near for sparkling vampires, think again. Lionsgate has just purchased Summit Entertainment, the makers of the TWILIGHT series, for a cool $412.5 Million in cash and stock. The merger makes Lionsgate one of the premiere movie studios in Hollywood, holding the rights to mega-teen franchises TWILIGHT and THE HUNGER GAMES.
But as the TWILIGHT series comes to an end with this November’s BREAKING DAWN: PART 2, Lionsgate cheif Jon Feltheimer believes there is still more money to milk out of the vampire series.
When asked if there is life beyond the final film, Feltheimer said:
I’m anticipating ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′ being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office…It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value. It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is ‘Boy I hope so.’
All together, the TWILIGHT SAGA has made more than $2 Billion dollars worldwide.
