Talent Shines at Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
June 5th, 2012 | Posted by in MusicHow do you celebrate the 60 year reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II?
You throw a party, invite all your countrymen, and have the band make some noise.
And, that’s just what they did.
In celebration of the event, the Diamond Jubilee Concert featured some crown jewels of British music:
Robbie Williams, Annie Lenox, Elton John, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney and the less shiny Madness.
But, who doesn’t love some Madness?
Elton John sang “Your Song” to the Queen because it’s her country, so technically, she owns the song.
The show ended with Paul McCartney performing a mini version of The Beatles Greatest Hits:
→ Magical Mystery Tour
→ All My Loving
→ Let It Be
→ Live and Let Die
→ Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!…
Lala how the life goes on
And, life goes on well for Her Majesty.
