RECAP: AGT Wraps Up Preliminary Auditions

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT presented its final episode before the Vegas shows. It’s the last chance for these hopefuls to make it to Vegas. Instead of focusing on one audition location, this episode featured acts from all over the United States.
If you’re keeping track, AGT visited Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis, New York City, Tampa and Austin this season. They must have saved the best for last in this clip show because we’ve seen some truly great talent in this show. We’ve also seen the most awful train wrecks.
All Aboard… for the Train Wrecks!
Mark is an Asian guy. He’s also a comedian. Actually, he probably shouldn’t quit his day job as a masseuse. No happy endings here.
They say you shouldn’t ever work with animals. In this case, Smooch Piggy proved all the naysayers right. She decided she wasn’t going to perform, and she paid the price.
Trish claims she’s a rapper. She dresses like a stripper. When the judges learn she has zero talent (is there less than zero?), her true motivations for auditioning are revealed… and “revealing” it is!
Bring on the TALENT!
All the way from Puerto Rico comes the 787 Crew. They flew up to the auditions spending nearly $4,000 on plane tickets on the chance that the judges would love them. It was a great gamble!
Jacob Williams is a young comedian, but he is more nervous than anyone we’ve ever seen this season. In fact, he looks like he’s going to vomit. Seriously, he might spew, but once he performs his material, you can see the confidence grow within him.
Finally, we get a truly gold-medal performance from Mary Joyner. She’s the daughter of Olympians Al Joyner and the late Florence Griffith-Joyner. When she opens her mouth to sing, she delivers a performance that could put her at the top of the winner’s podium.
Next Week…
Starting Monday, the show heads to Las Vegas where the judges will pare down more than 100 acts to a mere 48.
Which act has impressed you the most this season? Is there an act the judges SHOULD have sent to Vegas but didn’t? Let us know in the comments!
