MYSK: Electric SunFebruary 23rd, 2012 | Posted by in Featured Music | In The Know | Music | Top Posts
Artist: Electric Sun
Genre: Rock / Indie Rock
5 Words or Less: Eclectic, Guitar Driven, Fun
The Sound: Electric sun has a clear rock and roll base, but from listening to some of their tracks I wouldn’t say that they confine themselves to a specific sound. You can expect guitar to drive full bodied songs that have the vocals of an indie rock band.
The Scoop: Electric Sun is bringing rock and roll into the modern age. The genre has dissipated in the recent years, either falling more heavily into pop music, or into the punk metal influenced underground. Enter Electric Sun, the band that will give you your catchy hook and your raging solo with balance, maintaining what feels like embodiment of rock and roll.
Electric sun has been getting some major hype lately, which is exactly why you need to be in the know, and get in on the ground level with this band. Recently lead vocalist and guitarist Vlad Holiday was featured in Guitar Player Magazine, and the band was featured on the Times Square Toshiba screen right under the new years ball! It can’t get much better for these guys. Oh wait, they also just opened up for Guns and Roses at the House of Blues in Chicago and at The Filmore Silver Spring in Maryland.
With the recent release of their EP The Gilded Cage, Electric Sun is gearing up for the release of their video for the song “Don’t Look Back.” So keep your eyes and ears peeled for the that release and more news from them.
Until then take a listen below and see what you’ve been missing.
Electric Sun is:
Vlad Holiday (lead vocals/lead guitar)
Amanda Carl (keyboards/backing vocals)
Steve Kellner (bass guitar/backing vocals)
Dave Tantao (drums)
