We’ve pretty much already forgotten that Regis Philbin used to sit next to Kelly Ripa on Live!, so get ready for a Giant to take his place.

Broadcasting and Cable is reporting that former NY Giants defensive star Michael Strahan will be taking over the co-hosting duties with Ripa this fall.

Live! has been on the hunt for Ripa’s permanent sidekick since November, and they’ve had over 50 temporary guests hosts including Jerry Seinfeld, Seth Myers, Kristen Chenoweth and Cat Deeley.

It looks like Strahan got off the blocks faster than anyone else.

If you haven’t seen Strahan on Live!, you’re missing out.  This is a brilliant call by the show.
