The Album: It’s a Shame About Ray
Why Take the Trip?
When grunge was at its peak, a band from Boston called The Lemonheads, who happened to look like grunge rockers, brought us an album full of pop melodies without the angst.
Know Before You Go:
It’s a Shame About Ray was The Lemonheads’ 5th album, but their sophomore major label release.
Lead singer Evan Dando managed to pull off the Seattle look while nonchalantly singing his songs.
Juliana Hatfield sang backup on some of the albums tracks.
The album features a remake of the Simon and Garfunkel classic “Mrs. Robinson,” which was used to help promote the 25th Anniversary of the film The Graduate.
Standout Tracks:
→ Confetti
→ Mrs. Robinson
It’s a Shame About Ray is available on Amazon and iTunes.
