Why Take the Trip?
Britain’s musical talent was on full display during Great Britain’s Diamond Jubilee.
Among the headliners for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert was one Reginald Dwight, which you might know as Elton John.
And even though Elton John’s been alive longer than Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, he’s still making great music.
Know Before You Go:
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was Elton John’s 7th studio album.
John composed most of the music over a 3-day period, while his lyricist Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics over 2 1/2 weeks.
The album went on to be John’s best selling album with over 30 million copies sold.
Rolling Stone placed the album at #91 in their “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” issue.
