Fiona Apple Returns, Hits the Road
March 13th, 2012 | Posted by in Music
Fiona Apple is back with a disappointing 23-word title for her next album “The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do.”
I say disappointing not because of the content of the album…because who knows what it actually sounds like, but because the actual title pales in comparison to her 1999 album “When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king, What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight, And he’ll win the whole thing ‘fore he enters the ring, There’s no body to batter when your mind is your might, So when you go solo, you hold your own hand, And remember that depth is the greatest of heights, And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land, And if you fall it won’t matter, cause you’ll know that you’re right.”
“The Idler Wheel” just doesn’t compare, right?
Apple’s “The Idler Wheel” is expected to drop in late June, but in the meantime, you can check her out on the road…oh wait, you can’t, because all of them except for June 24th at the Governors Ball Music Festival have been sold out.
