Hey Everyone,
It’s the remake of that Sylvester Stallone movie you get confused with Demolition Man about an angry futuristic cop who’s the ultimate law enforcer.
The film, starring Karl Urban in the titular role, follows Dredd as he goes to take down drug king Ma-Ma (Lena Heady) with his partner, a rookie played by Olivia Thirlby. Dredd and Co. are sent into Ma-Ma’s “lair” aka her sci-fi apartment complex to bring her to justice and as you can imagine, that is not as simple as it seems.
This is a toss up for me. I mean, definitely don’t go see it in the theaters, it looks horrible. But from a “I want to see things blown up” type of way it looks awesome. Urban always finds a way to land himself those types of “fun” roles and Thirlby is an unconventional choice as his partner, playing the role in a way that isn’t completely unbelievable.
Dredd hits theaters September 21 in 3D.
And if you were wondering, the song you hear in the trailer is La Roux’s “In For The Kill” (Skream’s Let’s Get Ravey Remix).
