Celebrity endorsements of presidential candidates has always been a quasi-big deal. They typically lean to the left. In 2008, Scarlett Johansson caused a commotion by claiming she and Barack Obama were “email buddies.” Harold and Kumar star Kal Penn quit his gig on House to go work for the Obama campaign. But occasionally, we see celebrities thumping for a Republican. This year, Clint Eastwood publicly backed Mitt Romney by giving a ten minute speech to an empty chair, for example.
Samuel L. Jackson would like to do his part to influence the vote this November. And in case you thought that it wouldn’t be laced with profanity, well, guess what. F*ck you, it is. If there is one thing Sam Jackson is known for, it’s emphatically throwing F-bombs around. So it makes sense that it would feature prominently in the political ad “Wake the f*ck up, vote for Obama.”
I’d listen to him if I were you. The second part of his ad is him reading Ezekiel 25:17 – and you KNOW what that means.
