AMC Puts You Out of Your Misery, Cancels The Killing

After two disappointing seasons, the first which broke the cardinal rule of television by betraying its audience’s trust while the second tried its best to fix its mistakes from the first, AMC has decided to cancel The Killing.
AMC released this statement:
After much deliberation, we’ve come to the difficult decision not to renew The Killing for a third season. AMC is incredibly proud of the show and is fortunate to have worked with such a talented team on this project, from showrunner Veena Sud and our terrific partners at Fox Television Studios to the talented, dedicated crew and exceptional cast.
Fox Television Studios claim they will shop the series to other networks but the reality of the situation is not enough people cared about the show to warrant a third season, and the few people who watched both seasons only did so because they refused to give up on the show without knowing who killed Rosie Larson.
Bottom line, respect your audience or feel their wrath.
