AGT’s Howard Stern Says ‘America Got It Wrong’August 23rd, 2012 | Posted by in Featured TV | Reality TV | Television
Heading into this week’s results show, at least three of the 12 AMERICA’S GOT TALENT wildcard acts appeared to be shoe-ins according to judge Howard Stern. When the results were announced, Howard watched with wonder as some of those acts were sent packing.
“I think America got some of these things wrong,” Stern said during the third elimination. “They better get this one right.”
By the end of the show, Howard found himself picking between two acts he didn’t really care for the previous night. In fact, our predictions were so far off, I’m not sure I’m totally qualified to judge talent anymore. We only called one correctly.
So, let’s watch as our favorites get voted off the show.
The first group to be called forward was Sebastien El Charro de Oro, the Bandbaz Brothers and Ben Blaque.
That’s the last we’ll ever see of Ben Blaque’s assistant, Devon. She’s smoking, and we can only hope she makes a terrible career move and decides to pose in a men’s magazine.
After a ridiculous performance by the Bring It On musical from Broadway, we were brought another elimination. This time, it’s between Horse, Jake Wesley Rogers and Andrew De Leon. The result this time is a bit more obvious.
Right away, they moved right into the third elimination. Todd Oliver, Cristin Sandu and Spencer Horsman were on the chopping block.
Furthering the overexposure of next year’s “not-it” girl, Carly Rae Jepsen, she performed with something called Owl City. Perform is kind of misleading, though. It was all lip sync.
For the fourth elimination, again it looked like an obvious pick between Lindsey Norton, All That, and Jarrett and Raja. It wasn’t, and Howard loses his cool.
At that point, the judges are forced to choose between two acts that probably shouldn’t have made it this far into the show.
The semifinals begin, and the first 12 of 24 performers will hit the stage. They are:
- Joe Castillo
- Bria Kelly
- The Scott Brothers
- William Close
- Academy of Villains
- Tom Cotter
- Eric Dittelman
Presumably, two performers from this wildcard bunch will also go again when AGT returns Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
