After Lackluster Performances, AGT Results Hardly Surprising

Wednesday night on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, we wasted about an hour of our lives watching the inevitable occur. With one exception, the results fell exactly in line with my predictions from Tuesday.
The show featured special performances from the BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT winner and Australian DJ Havana Brown, who literally DJ’ed for about 30 seconds. The rest of the performance was dance and lip-sync. Down under, they would call it “crap,” but it would sound really cool in their accents. Here’s the full episode.
So, let’s get to it… the eliminations.
Elimination Numero Uno
Rock Star Juggler Mike Price, comedian Jacob Williams, and balance act Cristin Sandu take the stage for the first elimination. The result is obvious. Two of them dramatically failed on Tuesday.
Elimination Numero Two
Lightwire Theater, Inspire the Fire and All Beef Patty are next on the chopping block, and again, there is only one act that even came close to impressing the judges. Howie alludes to that, but he fails to name the performer.
Elimination Number Trix
Dancers Elusive, the Untouchables and singerĀ Jake Wesley Rogers were up next, and this was one where I couldn’t easily call it. To listen to the judges on Tuesday, the Untouchables could be the winner, but Elusive had an impressive performance that home voters could pass through to spite the judges.
Elimination x=(5+3)/2
At last, we’re down to stunt team All Wheel Sports, band Wordspit and the Illest, and escape artist Spencer Horsman.
Here Come Da Judge(s)
With Spencer’s departure, the judges are faced with a tough choice. The judges liked both acts, but Howard clearly likes Wordspit the best. He makes that choice, and Howie makes it so Sharon has to be the tie-breaker. It’s a nail biter, and the result surprised the hell out of me.
Next Week…
